Bin picking creates a particular challenge in automation due to the undefined object position. A camera system is used as standard to recognise the component position. These systems are usually expensive, difficult to integrate and prone to errors.

FORMHAND solves this problem by using universal gripper pads that adapt optimally to the indeterminate position and shape of the objects. Unlike standard gripper pads, FORMHAND gripper pads do not rely on discrete gripping points, which significantly increases flexibility and efficiency. Our gripper pads utilise a unique combination of form-fit and force-fit to grip objects securely, regardless of their position.
This eliminates the need to use complex camera systems for position detection. The FORMHAND system enables robust and reliable handling, even with complex and variably arranged objects, and thus offers an efficient solution for the challenges of bin picking.
